Swades Foundation has partnered with HSBC India and is inviting proposals from NGOs/ CSOs under the HSBC Skills for Life programme for skills training projects that have specific emphasis on empowering young people from disadvantaged communities.

Grants Available:
For 2016, the programme has ear-marked INR 8 crore to be disbursed as grants to NGOs for projects that skill youth and link them to employment or entrepreneurship opportunities.
The grant size available for individual project is between INR 25 lakhs and INR 60 lakhs for a project duration of 12 to 18 months.

Eligibility:

Skills Sector targeted through this programme:
According to human resource and skill requirement reports commissioned by the National Skill Development Corporation and authored by the consulting firm KPMG, India will need close to 109 million skilled workers over the next decade across 24 identified sectors by 2022.
The programme will initially support skill development in 8 sectors that have incremental human resource requirements. These are: Retail, Transportation and logistics, Beauty and wellness, Tourism, hospitality and travel, Electronic and IT hardware, IT and ITES, Healthcare, BFSI (Banking, Financial Services and Insurance).
