| | Funding Pattren | : | • 50% of the cost of land and • 75% of the cost of construction of the building; or • 50% of the cost of land and 75% of the cost for purchase of a ready constructed building as assessed by State PWD or CPWD • Except for 25% of the project cost, no other liability is incurred by the agency towards the project cost of construction of the hostel as the hostel could be operated on a self-financing basis with the inmates themselves taking care of the maintenance and other charges for the running of the hostel and all services being outsourced. | | Description | : | The Government of India has launched a Scheme of Assistance in the year 1972 for the construction/expansion of hostel building for working women in order to provide a safe accommodation in a healthy environment at a reasonable cost and suitably located. This scheme is being implemented by the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India.Allocation for this schemes for the 12th five year plan is 140 Crores and allocation for financial year 2013-14 is 20 Crores |

| | Eligibility Criteria | : | The agencies which could seek assistance under the scheme include, Non Governmental Organizations, Local Urban Bodies, Municipalities, Municipal Corporations and Development Authorities, Universities, Social Welfare Boards, Women’s Development Corporations and other organizations, as given in the scheme. |
